One or two faces, filling most of the frame, in good light. Print flattens a picture slightly, so a photo that is already bright and sharp gives the best result.
What struggles: group photos where each face is tiny, screenshots that have been forwarded through WhatsApp several times, very dark pictures, and heavy filters. Send us the original from the gallery rather than a forwarded copy — a forwarded image has already been compressed, and we can't get that detail back.
How the printing works
The image is printed with food-grade edible ink onto an edible sheet, which is laid onto the finished cake. It is safe to eat, tastes of nothing, and is cut and served with the rest of the cake.
Colours come out slightly softer than they look on a phone screen — that is the nature of edible ink, not a mistake. Straight edges, borders and any writing you want around the photo are piped by hand.
